Mastery Grants: Advancing Innovation in Personal and Professional Growth

December 11, 2024

The Department of Surgery has announced “mastery” as the theme of this year’s academic development awards, inviting proposals aimed at advancing both personal and professional growth. Areas of focus include professional and executive skills, technological advancements, and physical and mental health.

All department members are eligible to apply, with up to 12 proposals receiving up to $5,000 in funding to be implemented over 12 months. Established in 2019, the academic development awards are an internal funding mechanism, designed to foster a research culture that encourages the exploration of new ideas and approaches across disciplines.

Applications are due Nov. 11 and will be reviewed by an advisory group led by Drs. Benjamin Judson and John Morton. Winners will be announced in early 2025.
