Dr. Chao Zheng, Associate Research Scientist, Yale University PET Center, has been awarded a 2022 Research Fellowship grant from the Alzheimer’s Association for PET Ligand Development and Application in Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Zheng’s research project, “Regio-effect of ROCK2 function and its implications for Alzheimer’s disease,” will involve novel ROCK2 PET imaging probe development and its application in a genetically engineered Alzheimer’s-like rodent model to explore changing levels of ROCK2 in the brain. Dr. Zheng will be guided by Drs. Zhengxin Cai, Henry Huang, Stephen Strittmatter, and Richard Carson on this project.
Dr. Zheng was also awarded a grant from the Yale Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. The grant will enable Chao to conduct a pilot research project, “Longitudinal ROCK2-PET imaging study in the TgF344-AD transgenic rat model of AD,” at Yale in the coming year.
