YSM Profile Header Cards

• 00:03Header cards are a new
• 00:05feature which allow you to
• 00:06highlight at the top of
• 00:07your profile what you consider
• 00:08the most important aspects of
• 00:10your work.
• 00:11These cards often link to
• 00:13more detailed information in the
• 00:14corresponding section of your profile.
• 00:17There are two options available
• 00:19for the layout of the
• 00:20header cards,
• 00:21static and carousel.
• 00:23The static layout will show
• 00:25one to three cards at
• 00:26the the top of your
• 00:26profile at
• 00:27all times.
• 00:29The carousel layout allows for
• 00:30more header cards.
• 00:32It will show up to
• 00:33four categories of cards with
• 00:35one to three cards in
• 00:36each category.
• 00:39To customize these cards, log
• 00:40in to Beatrix dot Yale
• 00:42dot e d u and
• 00:43navigate to your profile,
• 00:45then click on the appearance
• 00:47tab.
• 00:48Scroll down to the header
• 00:49card section.
• 00:51The first option is whether
• 00:52you would like a static
• 00:53header or a carousel.
• 00:56For the static header, click
• 00:58add new card or the
• 00:59edit cards button to start
• 01:01customizing.
• 01:04Mixing cards from different categories
• 01:06is encouraged to highlight different
• 01:08aspects of your career.
• 01:10You can choose up to
• 01:11three cards from any of
• 01:13the categories.
• 01:14Once you have selected the
• 01:15maximum three cards,
• 01:17you will have to remove
• 01:18one to add a different
• 01:19card to the static header.
• 01:26Depending on the information available
• 01:27in your profile, some cards
• 01:29may indicate that they have
• 01:30no data. If you select
• 01:32any of these cards, they
• 01:33will not appear on your
• 01:34web profile until there is
• 01:35information to display.
• 01:37When you're done, click the
• 01:39update button.
• 01:42If you choose the carousel
• 01:43header, the process is similar.
• 01:45First, use the toggles under
• 01:47available card categories
• 01:49to choose which card categories
• 01:51will appear.
• 01:53Each time you enable a
• 01:54category, you will be prompted
• 01:56to select the cards you
• 01:57want to appear in that
• 01:58category.
• 01:59Each category must have at
• 02:01least one card to appear
• 02:02on your web profile.
• 02:05You can select up to
• 02:07four categories.
• 02:10Click the selected category to
• 02:12change the cards that'll appear
• 02:13on that section of the
• 02:14carousel.
• 02:23After choosing the categories you
• 02:24want, you can drag and
• 02:26drop them to sort them
• 02:27in the order you'd like
• 02:28them to appear on your
• 02:29profile.
• 02:33Once you're done, make sure
• 02:34to preview your web profile
• 02:36to ensure it appears the
• 02:37way you want.
• 02:41Please note there may be
• 02:42a delay of a few
• 02:43minutes between when you make
• 02:44changes in Beatrix and when
• 02:45they appear on the preview
• 02:47page.
• 02:47If you don't see your
• 02:48changes right away, try waiting
• 02:50a couple of minutes and
• 02:51then refreshing the page in
• 02:52your web browser.
