  • 00:08Well, what's your life like
  • 00:09now if you don't mind sharing a
  • 00:11little bit about what what you grew up
  • 00:14to be like what's what's your family?
  • 00:16Like, Lifelike, and uh.
  • 00:18Sure, uhm well I have.
  • 00:21I have Twins and they just, um,
  • 00:24graduated from high school last year.
  • 00:27They were both in gap years and my
  • 00:31daughter is in Germany helping right now,
  • 00:34helping working with children and young
  • 00:38adults that are refugees in Germany and
  • 00:42or with kids with some with some issues.
  • 00:46And my son and she's still been right now.
  • 00:50My son is was doing a gap here in
  • 00:53South Africa where he was working
  • 00:56with kids in the townships and
  • 00:59providing care for them and.
  • 01:02He actually had to come back home
  • 01:04after the country lock down or
  • 01:06break prior to the lock down,
  • 01:08and so he's been at home with my husband and
  • 01:11me and and that's that's been really nice.
  • 01:14I mean, I, I think it's less interesting
  • 01:17for him to be with his parents at this time,
  • 01:20but it's it's really nice to see
  • 01:23how he's grown up and to be able
  • 01:25to share and have
  • 01:26conversations and dinner with the both
  • 01:28of them. Yeah, go ahead appreciating
  • 01:30that quality time, yeah?
  • 01:32And is there anything here that
  • 01:34is there anything that you wish
  • 01:36your patience knew about you, um,
  • 01:38or you know what makes your job?
  • 01:40What are you so passionate about right now?
  • 01:42Those are two kind of parting
  • 01:44questions. I was
  • 01:45thinking about asking. Uhm, you know.
  • 01:49I think that most of my patients know, uhm?
  • 01:54That Uh, that I'm passionate about
  • 01:58what I do and and I'm passionate
  • 02:01about communicating with them. I do.
  • 02:05I do have the the honor and privilege of
  • 02:09working with the quality committees in asco,
  • 02:13which is our professional society and
  • 02:16have a nice have a good look at at the
  • 02:21really thoughtful conversations between
  • 02:23caregivers and including doctors, nurses.
  • 02:26I know pharmacists and lab folks
  • 02:29and all everybody who provides care
  • 02:31across not only our system but
  • 02:33but across the USA tonight really.
  • 02:39Would love for them to know that
  • 02:41you know people are really thinking
  • 02:44of them and especially during this
  • 02:47time and trying to make really safe
  • 02:50choices to help protect patients
  • 02:52until allowed them to get care.
  • 02:56It's. It's some, it's a really
  • 02:58fantastic team as you know that
  • 03:00we have it's Milo and I want to
  • 03:03make sure that they know that.
  • 03:07For me in particular,
  • 03:09I think being uhm being you know
  • 03:12Asian and my husband is German
  • 03:15and so we have a cross cultural
  • 03:18family and extended network.
  • 03:20I just want folks to know that
  • 03:24you know the care that we give is
  • 03:28really meant to be inclusive of
  • 03:31all folks and we want to we feel
  • 03:34that having a diverse team and and.
  • 03:38Being able to meet the needs of diverse
  • 03:41communities is really important too, so.
  • 03:45Thank you so much for
  • 03:46taking the time to do this.
  • 03:48I really appreciate it and I know,
  • 03:50um, all of our patients are really
  • 03:52going to appreciate getting to know,
  • 03:54you know, thank you.
  • 03:56It's it's a little interesting experience,
  • 03:57but, uh, I'd love to be able
  • 03:59to ask my patients the same way.
  • 04:02I often have great conversations,
  • 04:03but I think that one of the
  • 04:05and I know you feel this way.
  • 04:07One of the greatest.
  • 04:10Privileges of what we do is
  • 04:12to be able to have that.
  • 04:14Peak in connection to to so many
  • 04:17wonderful such a privilege. It's
  • 04:19a real privilege. So thanks
  • 04:21for doing this and we really
  • 04:23appreciate getting to know you.
