    Biography

    Christy Olezeski, PhD, is a clinical psychologist who specializes in supporting transgender and gender expansive youth and their families. She is the director and co-founder of the Yale Gender Program, an interdisciplinary team that provides family-centered consultation and support to patients who are exploring their gender identity or seeking guidance related to gender. Olezeski and her team are committed to creating a compassionate, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and families.

    In addition to her clinical work, Olezeski is an associate professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students and trainees across a range of disciplines, including psychiatry, psychology, and public health. Her academic efforts focus on trauma-informed care, psychosexual development, and gender development. Olezeski’s research addresses topics such as health and mental health outcomes for gender diverse youth, the development of supportive systems of care, and strategies to address disinformation about gender-affirming care.

    Olezeski received her doctoral degree from the University at Albany, completed her predoctoral internship at Westchester Jewish Community Services, and pursued postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
