    Biography

Barani Kumar Rajendran, PhD, is a well-trained translational cancer bioinformatics scientist with expertise in integrative genomics, epigenetics, and immuno-oncology. His research focuses on breast cancer, lung cancer including Non-Small Cell (NSCLC), Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) and Colorectal cancer, with an emphasis on tumor evolution, immune evasion, and therapeutic resistance. He applies multi-omics approaches, including whole exome/ genome/ transcriptome/ epigenome sequencing, copy number variation, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell technologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing and scATAC-seq, to dissect tumor–immune interactions and treatment response.

Dr. Rajendran has extensive experience working on multiple clinical trial projects, integrating molecular and clinical data to identify biomarkers of response and resistance. He develops reproducible computational frameworks for somatic variant analysis, copy number and aneuploidy and epigenomic profiling, chromatin accessibility analysis, neoantigen prediction, and antigen processing and presentation pathway analysis, including chaperones and immunoproteasomes. His collaborative, multidisciplinary research advances precision oncology across targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and DNA damage-based treatments.
