    Biography

Dr. Allison M. Greaney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine, on the Traditional Tenure Track.

The Greaney Lab asks how tissue architecture shapes biological function. To answer this, her team uses advanced bioengineering techniques to fabricate engineered whole lungs as three-dimensional biomimetic tissue models that recreate the structural and cellular complexity of native lung tissue. These model systems are then interrogated through single-cell and spatial transcriptomic profiling, revealing principles that govern tissue biology, pulmonary physiology, and disease.

Dr. Greaney completed her doctorate in Biomedical Engineering in the lab of Dr. Laura Niklason at Yale. She then pursued postdoctoral research training as an NRSA Fellow (NHLBI), jointly mentored by Dr. Ruslan Medzhitov in the Department of Immunobiology at Yale and Dr. Robert Langer at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
