Welcoming New YCSC Community Members

The Yale Child Study Center welcomes new community members regularly, including those listed below who joined this fall. Welcome, everyone!

Alison Magnotti: As the new lab manager of the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program, Magnotti brings research and clinical experience to her new role. After earning a Master of Arts in forensic psychology from Roger Williams Universit served as a mental health professional on the Adolescent Continuing Care Units at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital in Massachusetts. She went on to work for Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families, where she provided therapeutic services to youths residing at Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center South Campus in Middletown, Connecticut. Prior to joining Yale, she was a community-based therapist and provided in-home treatment to families and youths at risk of out-of-home placement throughout Rhode Island.

Michael Wiener: Before joining the YCSC-Psychiatry Integrated Business Office as associate director of faculty affairs and staff administration, Wiener served as administrator of university academic personnel at The Rockefeller University. Prior to that, he spent time in Spain, teaching English and working toward a master’s degree in international relations.

Xinwei Zhang, PhD: Prior to joining the Zigler Center as a postdoctoral associate, Zhang earned a doctorate in comparative and international education from Lehigh University. Her research interests lie in understanding acculturation, parental involvement, family-school partnerships, racial discrimination experiences, and mental health among individuals and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Feiran Zhang, MA, EdM: A new postgraduate associate in the Zigler Center, Zhang graduated from Columbia University in the summer of 2022 with a double master’s degree in counseling psychology on the track of school counseling. Prior to joining the YCSC, she worked in the Bullying Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Lab at the University of Maryland with the goal of understanding families’ unique experiences and ultimately promoting Asian American teens and their families’ resilience and success.
