What is the purpose of this trial?
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the psychedelic dimethyltryptamine (DMT), in addition to a short course of psychotherapy, on Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and desire to drink alcohol. DMT is a hallucinogenic drug that occurs naturally in certain plants. In this study, we will assess the effects of DMT on alcohol use and brain function, compared to an inactive compound.
