    Biography

    Safraz is a general surgery resident here at Yale University. He is originally from Brooklyn, NY. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, concentrating in Molecular Biology and earning a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy. He attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He was a fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at Yale from 2023-2025 and was mentored by Dr. Rachel Greenup. He is interested in an academic surgical career focusing on improving patient-surgeon shared decision making through health services research
