    Biography

I am an endocrinologist and physician-scientist who joined the Yale School of Medicine faculty in 2023 after transitioning from the University of Amsterdam and Amsterdam University Medical Center. At Amsterdam UMC, I completed my residency in internal medicine, fellowship in endocrinology, and PhD, with a focus on metabolism and clinical nutrition. My research centers on three related areas: the molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance in humans, the neurobiology of obesity, and the role of the brain in the regulation of glucose metabolism. In addition to my research, I serve as Medical Director of the Amsterdam University Medical Center Expert Center for Intestinal Failure and Parenteral Nutrition.
