    Biography

Bashar A. Kadhim, MD, MHS is a Clinical Informatics Specialist and attending hospitalist at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale Medicine, and an ACGME-accredited Clinical Informatics fellow. His work sits at the intersection of clinical care, health information technology, and translational research — with a focus on developing real-time clinical decision support systems, scalable healthcare data infrastructure, and multi-center research informatics frameworks.

Dr. Kadhim holds comprehensive Epic certification across the full technology stack — including Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle, Cosmos, FHIR, and Bridges — and has applied this expertise to deploy validated predictive algorithms and dynamic medication guidance tools directly within the EHR at the point of care. His CDS systems include a real-time logistic regression model evaluating 14 clinical parameters to predict 1-year patient mortality, and a CKD phenotyping alert that delivers provider-facing KDIGO heatmaps and individualized medication class recommendations. He serves as Informatics Director at Yale's Clinical and Translational Research Accelerator (CTRA), where he leads data infrastructure development for multi-institutional clinical trials including PROMPT-Lipid and the PROMPT-CKD study.

Dr. Kadhim's additional expertise spans OMOP CDM pipeline development, REDCap API automation, biomedical large language model deployment for clinical NLP, and eye-tracking research — the latter forming the basis of his master's thesis on clinician fatigue monitoring, with planned future application to CDS user experience evaluation. He has authored publications in JAMA, JASN, JACC, and other leading journals.
