Yale Center for Biomedical and Interventional Technology (CBIT)

June 17, 2014

The Yale Center for Biomedical and Interventional Technology (CBIT) is an interdisciplinary initiative to foster greater innovation in medical technology. CBIT is a consortium of engineers, clinicians, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs. Novel technical approaches to address under-met clinical needs will be incubated, supported, implemented and potentially brought to market.

The goal of CBIT is to:

  • Catalyze medical device innovation and development
  • Encourage solutions that improve clinical efficiency, efficacy, or lower heathcare costs
  • Provide new research and educational opportunities for Yale faculty, students and staff
  • Establish an entry point for development and investment organizations to introduce a wide portfolio of CBIT projects and activities
  • Catalog University resources, capabilities, technical expertise and clinical access to serve as a foundation for new industry partnerships

Key partnerships with the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI), Office of Cooperative Research (OCR), Center for Engineering, Innovation and Design (CEID) and Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI) will provide feedback and guidance.
