New Interns selected for the Yale Child Study Center Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship

Karyn Bailey and her training team are pleased to introduce the following as our in-coming class of Social Work Fellows for the 2013-2014 training year. They bring a wealth and diversity of experience, an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to bettering the lives of the children and families that we serve. We look forward to a successful and inspiring year of training with them.

Alan Fong will be joining us as a Social Work Fellow in OPC. He is in the process of completing his MSW at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in New York. His clinical interests include a systems approach to childhood trauma with sensitivity for cultural and socio-economic diversity.

Abigail “Abby” Palmer will be joining us as a Social Work Fellow in IICAPS. She is in the process of completing her MSW at the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. Her clinical interests include the utilization of evidence-based models to address the needs of Latino children, particularly those with developmental disabilities.

Jeston Sussman will be joining us as a Social Work Fellow in IICAPS. She is in the process of completing her MSW at the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. Her clinical interests include trauma and family therapy/support with a particular interest in the utilization of photography and video art in the construction of therapeutic narrative.

Julia Wessel will be joining us as a Social Work Fellow in OPC. She is in the process of completing her MSW at the Chapel Hill School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina. Her clinical interests include family support in response to trauma, homelessness, or divorce with a specific interest in play therapy with young and elementary school age children.
