We are pleased to announce a hands-on workshop on iDISCO-based tissue clearing and 3D imaging, to be held at Yale University on May 10–14, with support from the Center for Neuroethology & Physiological Plasticity. The workshop will focus on applying tissue-clearing approaches to non-standard vertebrate animal models, where established protocols and analytical pipelines often require adaptation.
Over five days, participants will receive intensive hands-on training covering the complete experimental and analytical workflow from the original developers of the technology: Nicolas Renier (Paris Brain Institute), Zhuhao Wu (Weil Cornell New York), Cristoph Kirst (University of California, Berkeley and University of California, San Francisco), and Pablo Ariel (University of North Carolina).
- Tissue clearing and immunolabeling, with practical bench experience using iDISCO-based protocols.
- Light-sheet microscopy, including sample preparation, image acquisition, and optimization.
- Computational analysis, with training in existing pipelines for processing, visualization, registration, and quantitative analysis of cleared tissues.
The workshop is free of charge and limited to 30 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Accepted participants are responsible for travel, meals not provided by the workshop, and hotel accommodations. Priority will be given to applicants working with non-standard vertebrate models and to those for whom access to these approaches could meaningfully advance their research and training.

We hope this workshop will bring together neuroscientists working across diverse vertebrate systems and provide participants with the practical tools needed to implement tissue clearing, light-sheet imaging, and quantitative 3D analysis in their own research.
