Department of Surgery Donates Monetary Gift to Yale-New Haven Hospital

Dr. Robert Udelsman, Chairman of the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is pleased to announce that the Department of Surgery has donated a monetary gift in the amount of $45,864.00 to the Yale-New Haven Hospital in support of its new Clinical Program Development Fund. This gift will fund the purchase of a portable ultrasound machine for Yale-New Haven Hospital for use in the treatment and care of our surgical patients.

Dr. Kimberly Davis, Professor and Section Chief of the Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery, Section of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Surgical Emergencies was responsible for making the donation possible. In a letter dated September 2, 2014, Kevin Walsh, Vice President of Development thanked Dr. Davis and stated, “This gift, along with the gifts of others, will make a difference in the lives of those we serve.”

The YSM Department of Surgery is honored to provide this gift and thanks Dr. Davis for taking an active leadership role in improving patient care. This gift will be reported in the Yale-New Haven Hospital’s annual report as a donation from the YSM Department of Surgery to support the care of our patients.
