Yale is one of the nation’s premier institutions for Pediatric Subspecialty Training. Our goal is to develop outstanding academic pediatric pulmonologists who demonstrate leadership in clinical medicine, teaching skills, critical thinking and scholarship. We provide superb clinical and research training in a nurturing environment that emphasizes an individualized approach to education. We are highly committed to ensuring the success of our fellows and are invested in their career development. We offer rich opportunities from the vast resources of Yale School of Medicine as well as unique training programs in investigative medicine and clinical research.
Former fellows of our program have gone on to hold positions as Section Chief, Director of research programs and Sleep Centers and Fellowship Program Directors in medical schools and hospitals across the country as well as becoming independent NIH-funded investigators. Our program is highly competitive and ranks among the top training programs in the US for placing fellows in academic positions. The training environment and program are highly developed, exposing trainees to the full spectrum of pediatric pulmonary diseases while maintaining the strong tradition of providing outstanding opportunities for research training. Currently, Dr. Beverley Sheares is the program director and Dr. Pnina Weiss is the associate program director.
