      Dr. Farzana Pashankar is an accomplished pediatric hematologist oncologist, specializing in care of children with sickle cell disease and solid tumors. She is an international expert in germ cell tumors and rare tumors. Her research has focused on clinical trial development through Children's Oncology Group, and she is the Chair and Vice Chair of international trials in germ cell tumors. Dr. Pashankar is Director of Pediatric Solid Tumor Program, Disease Aligned Research Team Leader for Pediatrics at Smilow Cancer Center and Director of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program. Dr. Pashankar received her MBBS and MD from University of Pune, India. She trained in the United Kingdom, receiving an MRCP. She subsequently did a residency at the University of Iowa and fellowship at British Columbia Children's Hospital before joining Yale in 2005.

      Dr. Puthenpura completed medical school and her pediatrics residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and graduated hematology/oncology fellowship from Yale in 2021. Her clinical interests include caring for pediatric and adolescent patients with brain tumors. Understanding the socioeconomic and emotional burden of cancer therapy on her patients provides the impetus for her research, which is focused on identifying and addressing outcome and survival disparities in pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancer patients due to race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and geographic location.

    • Clinical Fellow

      Jodi is a pediatric hematology-oncology fellow at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. She completed her medical school training at Tufts University School of Medicine prior to moving to Yale for her pediatric residency. She hopes to pursue a career as a physician-scientist dedicating her research to improving the outcomes of children with high-risk relapsed or refractory leukemias.
    • Clinical Fellow

      Deeksha Katoch is a pediatric hematology-oncology fellow at Yale University with a focus on benign hematology and bleeding disorders. Her journey has been shaped by clinical experience, research, and a commitment to improving patient care, particularly in resource-limited settings. She previously served as a medical officer in the Indian Air Force, completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at SUNY Downstate, and has been recognized with awards, including from the Hemostasis and Research Society, American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy.
