Year-long journey after horrific injury leads official back to ice
It was three minutes into the first period last Valentine’s Day when players from North Haven and Immaculate collided in the neutral zone at Northford Ice Pavilion. Tumbling to the ice, the two wiped out longtime hockey official, Marty Tangredi, along the sideboards. A terrible knee dislocation injury, which happened in a flash, has required a year’s journey of surgery, rehabilitation, determination and positivity that he, frankly, admits he didn’t know he had.
