Biography
I obtained my undergraduate degree at the University of Florence in Tuscany, where I am from, before going on to obtain my PhD from the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland in Australia. I then performed my postdoctoral studies at the Cavendish Laboratory, Physics of Medicine Institute at Cambridge University UK where I worked on the biophysical basis of dynamic ciliary beating in respiratory diseases such as cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia. I was recruited to the Pulmonary section Yale in 2018 where I focused primarily on the mechanisms that drive successful – an unsuccessful tissue repair in the lung.
