Biography

Dr. Svetlana Kuznetsova earned her B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. During her undergraduate studies, her Honors thesis delved into solid-state dosimeters at low kilovoltage energy ranges, focusing on their application in clinical settings. Her doctoral research centered on liver Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), where she developed an approach for the quantification of geometric delivery accuracy. Her Ph.D. work resulted in numerous awards from National and International entities, such as Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada, as well as International Organization of Medical Physics. Following the completion of Graduate Studies, her Ph.D. thesis was nominated for Governor General Gold Medal.

Dr. Kuznetsova was admitted to the Medical Physics Residency Program at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She successfully completed her residency in 2023 and subsequently joined Yale New Haven Hospital as a Medical Physicist. Furthermore, she holds an Assistant Professor position within the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Kuznetsova continues her work in the development and standardization of radiation oncology tools and methodologies.
