A flexible in-person program designed to introduce the medical student to radiation oncology. The opportunity exists to become familiar with the biological and physical basis of radiation oncology together with its clinical practice and with ongoing research. The elective offers an unequaled clinical exposure to patients with malignant disease. Didactic activities will focus on becoming familiar with the biological and physical basis of radiation oncology together with its clinical practice and with ongoing research. Students will participate in residency didactics, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and radiation oncology clinic, will deliver a 15-minute oral presentation at the end of the rotation, and will learn about unique opportunities offered by the department.

Medical students from schools outside Connecticut:

Students from a diverse and/or socioeconomically disadvantaged background are encouraged to apply, as up to $2500 in costs will be covered through the Yale Radiation Oncology Medical Student Clinical Fellowship. Register through VSAS.
