Research Summary
I am primarily interested in Educational Research related to procedural skills training, assessment of trainee and provider competency, and curriculum development. Much of my work has focused on improving success rates in neonatal endotracheal intubation through numerous strategies, including simulation-based mastery training with deliberate practice, videolaryngoscopy, and quality improvement initiatives. I am also involved in curriculum development of a National Neonatal Fellowship Curriculum through the Organization of Neonatal Training Program Directors (ONTPD), of which I am a member of the Executive Committee. I have additionally dedicated time to enhancing training of interprofessional ECMO teams through my work with the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO), and currently serve on ELSO's ECMOed education task force.
Extensive Research Description
