Hospital Medicine
Welcome From Our Section Chief
The Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) is one of the most dynamic and exciting groups in the Department of Pediatrics at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH). Our PHM Section values include making a difference, compassion, teamwork, boldness, quality oriented, community, growth, empathy and equity.
I have the great honor of leading a tremendously talented group of faculty, who are respected leaders in clinical excellence in an expanding regional health system, leaders in medical education, leaders in scholarship in hospital medicine and leaders in quality and safety.
Yale PHM faculty care for hospitalized children and well newborns in the state of Connecticut at the York Street campus (YSC) in New Haven, Bridgeport Hospital, Lawrence & Memorial (L&M) and at the recently added Greenwich Hospital inpatient services. Our group led the creation of the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) Clinical Pathways Program to enhance the practice of evidence-based medicine and reduce variation in patient care from site to site. The Yale PHM Section has established national recognition in quality and safety and the care of infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome and our group continues to broaden the evidence base around the care of these infants. Our faculty are beloved and recognized for their excellence in teaching pediatric residents and students.
A core value of our Section is service to the patients and families in our community, region and state. We strive to provide evidence based high quality care in an environment and culture that promotes social justice and eliminates health disparities. We are committed as individuals, as hospitalists and faculty to recognize our own biases, call out and stand up against racism and give back to our community.
I welcome you to learn more about the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
