Developmental & Behavioral Fellowship Program

The purpose of this fellowship program is to prepare trainees for successful careers in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. This program is an ACGME accredited three-year training program that will prepare graduates to diagnose, treat, and counsel children and families with a wide range of developmental and behavioral difficulties. Fellows are also trained to conduct quality research and become skilled advocates for children with a range of disabilities. Our program addresses a growing need for leaders in DBP to provide excellent clinical care, to conduct quality research, to teach and serve as role models to practitioners, fellows, residents, medical students, and other health professionals, and to inform policy, related to developmental and behavioral issues affecting children and families. We are a small program that provides rich experiences and intensive support and mentoring to fellows.

One first year position is offered for each academic year. The application and interview process begins approximately 12 months before the anticipated start date of fellowship. The program is funded by Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale Department of Pediatrics and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration of the US Department of Health and Human Services through the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Grant. We participate in ERAs and NRMP in the fall match. Each applicant must submit three letters of recommendation, one letter being from their pediatric program director, USMLE scores, along with a personal statement and current CV. Interviews will take place in early fall.
