YCCI Scholar and YPSDA Awards
We are pleased to announce a request for applications for the YCCI Scholar Awards and Yale Physician-Scientist Development Awards, which provide salary and/or research funds to a select number of junior faculty members who are strongly committed to research careers focused on improving human health. This includes basic, translational, clinical, and community-based research. Individuals must be nominated by a department chair, division head/section chief, or center/program director. The primary aim of these awards is to prepare the applicant for a successful independent research career, so career development and mentoring plans are very important. Awards will be for a total of two years. Funds may be requested to cover up to 75% of an individual’s salary (with a maximum of $120,000, including fringe benefits per year) and up to $25,000 of research support per year. Applicants who already have a career development award or who are the Principal Investigator on an award that includes direct costs of ≥$200,000/year for two or more years are not eligible for salary support but may apply for up to $25,000 in research support per year (the specific aims of this additional research support must be different from the specific aims of the career development award, though they can be related). Applicants who have substantial start-up funds may not be eligible for salary support; this will be determined at the time of the award.
Please see the YCCI website, for a full description of the requirements as well as additional application materials.

YCCI Multidisciplinary Post-Doctoral Training Program
The Multidisciplinary Post-Doctoral Training Program in Translational Research will provide an opportunity for Yale post-doctoral trainees in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Engineering and Applied Science or other appropriate departments in the graduate school to receive up to two years of support for training across the full span of clinical and translational research focused on human health. The Multidisciplinary Post-Doctoral Training Program in Translational Research seeks to support a representative and diverse group of outstanding trainees who specifically want to pursue careers in clinical and translational research; to train them in the use of state-of-the-art research tools; to enhance their abilities to work collaboratively in complex multidisciplinary research teams; to provide outstanding mentoring (including concordant mentoring) by experienced and diverse faculty that support the trainee’s long-term professional development.
As we strongly support a diverse scientific workforce and research focus, we encourage applications from investigators who pursue research in health equity or identify as being from a group underrepresented in health-related research.
Please see the YCCI website, for a full description of the requirements of this RFA as well as additional application materials.
