Distinguished Speakers Announced: Yale Child Study Center Grand Rounds Fall 2024

    August 30, 2024

Several distinguished speakers have been announced for the Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) Grand Rounds series for the upcoming fall semester, as listed below—including a special session scheduled on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 4 p.m with Patrick Luyten, who will be visiting from Belgium. The series is organized by the department’s Grand Rounds Committee, co-chaired by faculty members Andrés Martin and Kieran O’Donnell. Resuming on September 10, 2024, this weekly seminar-style series will be presented live from the YCSC Cohen Auditorium on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m, while also live streamed via Zoom.

Due to the many factors involved in speaker confirmation and scheduling, this list is subject to minor changes as the new semester gets underway. The web calendar events for the series will be updated with any changes and additional details as they are confirmed.

YCSC Grand Rounds are the oldest series exclusively dedicated to topics in child psychiatry and allied disciplines, offered via a weekly forum open to Yale faculty, staff, trainees, and affiliates. The sessions offer multidisciplinary opportunities to learn about topics relevant to the mental health of children, adolescents, families, and communities.

YCSC Chair Linda Mayes traditionally delivers the "welcome back" Grand Rounds session each semester to kick off each new academic year.

As in the past, most sessions will be eligible for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits, and – following a successful pilot offering of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for master’s level mental health professionals last year – most of this year’s sessions will also be eligible for CEUs. Individual credit designation and eligibility details are provided at applicable live sessions.

Upcoming Grand Rounds session and other department events are added to the YCSC web calendar on an on-going basis, updated as details are finalized, and recordings of past sessions are posted to the web calendar events as applicable.
