Biography

Joshua E. Insler, MD, is a resident in anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine. A native of Cleveland, OH, Dr. Insler graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a bachelor of science in clinical psychology and completed his undergraduate medical education at Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center. Following two years of clinical training in general surgery and a postdoctoral research fellowship, both at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Insler joined YSM to pursue residency training in anesthesiology.

Dr. Insler is an accomplished researcher, with particular interests in cardiac anesthesiology, critical care medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and medical education. In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious Editorial Fellowship from the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia and the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS), which provides early-career anesthesiologists with mentorship in academic publishing, peer review, and scientific writing.
