    Biography

    Dr. Khoury is an Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine specialist.

    At the Technion School of Medicine, Israel, Dr. Khoury earned his M.D. He completed his internship and residency at Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel. He then completed a clinical fellowship in pulmonary diseases at Carmel Medical Center. Following this, Dr. Khoury served as a senior physician at Carmel Medical Center, where he established the first post COVID clinic in northern Israel, and established the pulmonary division at EMMS Nazareth hospital, Israel.

    Dr. Khoury started his post doctoral fellowship at Yale School of Medicine on May 2021, where he studies novel pathways for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis development, at Dr. Kaminski's lab. During his fellowship, Dr. Khoury discovered the role of G-protein coupled receptor 87 (GPR87) in the development of pulmonary fibrosis, and was awarded the Department of Defense (DoD) discovery award, the Boehringer Ingelheim discovery award, and the ICLAF abstract award for his work on GPR87. Currently, Dr. Khoury is working on inhibition of pro-fibrotic pathways, including GPR87, for treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.
