    Biography

    Dr. Kong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology with Specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Her research focuses on preventing youth tobacco and substance use through diverse methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, social media analytics, and generative artificial intelligence. She uses these methods to analyze tobacco and other substance use and promotional trends, inform policies, and develop novel prevention and cessation interventions. Dr. Kong has served as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on multiple NIH-funded studies, and she is committed to training the next generation of independent researchers to use social media to prevent tobacco use and other addictive behaviors to promote positive health behaviors.
