Poster Guidelines
Create A Poster
After your abstract has been accepted, you will need to create a poster to be displayed at the Med Ed Day virtual poster session. We recommend that you download one of the editable PowerPoint (.pptx) templates below, but you may use any software or template you like to create your poster.
For general information about designing effective posters, accessibility, poster printing options, and more, we encourage you to review the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library (CWML) guide to creating academic posters.
If you are the author of an accepted abstract but do not feel that you will be able to create a poster by the submission deadline, please contact Erin Brannan (erin.brannan@yale.edu). There may still be opportunities for you to participate in the virtual poster session.
Dimensions
In previous years, poster dimensions have been limited to 44" wide by 44" tall due to the size of the display boards used at Med Ed Day. Due to this year's virtual format, we are relaxing the size restriction, however, we strongly encourage you to limit the size of your poster to no larger than 48" in either dimension. The downloadable templates below are all 44" by 44" or smaller.

Submit your accepted poster
The deadline for submitting poster PDFs for electronic display is Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:59pm Eastern.
If you are the author of an accepted abstract but do not feel that you will be able to create a poster by the submission deadline, please contact Erin Brannan (erin.brannan@yale.edu). There may still be opportunities for you to participate in the virtual poster session.
Preparing to present
Be sure to register for Med Ed Day in advance.
Posters will be displayed electronically using a platform that will allow conference attendees to write comments and ask questions about posters. We ask that at least one author ("Presenting Author") be available between June 2 and June 13, 2022 to respond intermittently to these electronic comments and questions.
If you have any questions about the Med Ed Day virtual poster session, abstract review process, or poster judging, contact Erin Brannan (erin.brannan@yale.edu).
Citing a poster
We suggest using the following citation format to cite your poster on your CV or in a publication:
LastName FM. Title of poster. Poster presented at: Medical Education Day at Yale 2022; June 2, 2022; New Haven, CT [virtual conference].
