Suzanne Evans, MD, PhD, elected a Fellow of ASTRO

Suzanne Evans, MD, MPH, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (FASTRO), a prestigious award given to recognize outstanding members for their leadership role in radiation oncology and major service to ASTRO.

Dr. Evans is a Professor of Therapeutic Radiology and cares for patients with breast cancer, with a particular bent towards ways in which side effects of treatment can be minimized. She is particularly interested in quality and safety, cognitive bias, comparative effectiveness, and patient communication. She is Chair of the best of ASTRO meeting, and part of ASTRO's annual meeting steering committee and Education committee. She serves on ASTRO’s Clinical Affairs and Quality council.

The ASTRO Fellows program recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the society and to the field of radiation oncology through research, education, patient care, and service to the field. Since its inception in 2006, the FASTRO designation has been awarded to only 394 of ASTRO’s more than 10,000 members worldwide.
