Biography

William Zhang is a Master of Public Health (MPH) candidate in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. William grew up in Canada and attended McGill University, where he graduated with distinction in microbiology and immunology. He has since worked in consulting under the evidence generation, health economics, outcomes research, and litigation support portfolios. William has also worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist at the Public Health Agency of Canada during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At Yale since 2022, his goal is to gain and employ experience in data-driven decision making, AI/machine learning, healthcare economics, and social determinants of health. William has been a Teaching Fellow for S&DS 230/530 (Data Exploration and Analysis) and is currently a Teaching Fellow for BIS 505 (Biostatistics in Public Health II). He is also working on a Practicum Project with the Yale Global Health Justice Partnership.
