Clinical Care
Overview
Meagan Campol, MD, MPH, says the best part of her job as an obstetrician-gynecologist is caring for women from adolescence through menopause.
“I enjoy the exciting and rewarding mix of primary care and preventative medicine balanced with surgery and hands-on interventions that I get to do working with women across such a wide age range,” Dr. Campol says.
Dr. Campol treats women who have healthy or high-risk pregnancies as well as those who have menstrual disorders, issues with sexual health, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic infections, and endometriosis. She also helps women with family planning and cancer screenings. She is trained in both traditional and minimally invasive surgical approaches for gynecologic conditions and emergencies.
Dr. Campols’ research background pertains to gender identity, contraceptive education, and global health disparities. She likes to reassure patients by telling them there are no “bad questions.” “There also aren’t any questions that haven’t been asked before,” she says. “I encourage patients to be empowered, confident, and to be an advocate for women's health in their own day-to-day lives.” She is also a clinical instructor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Yale School of Medicine.
