Biography
Dr. Ishaq Winters is a dedicated and compassionate neurologist specializing in Headache Neurology. Dr. Winters completed his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by his medical education at Duke University School of Medicine. He then pursued his neurology residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he also completed his internal medicine internship. During his neurology residency, he developed an interest in headache disorders after becoming aware of the degree to which these conditions impact the quality of life of individuals suffering from them. As a result, he decided to specialize in Headache Neurology at the Yale University Headache Neurology Fellowship where he developed expertise in diagnosing and managing headache disorders.
With a strong commitment to advancing the field, Dr. Winters actively engages in clinical research and patient advocacy. He is also deeply interested in integrating healthcare finance and administration into his career to enhance patient care, research, and healthcare access in the future.

The forums were sponsored through the Yale University Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the Well-being, Engagement & Leadership Development (WELD) Program. I am one of fifteen resident and fellow physicians chosen at Yale New Haven Hospital to participate in this program. Activities consisted of monthly sessions on leadership topics.
