Lisa Pavlovic, MD, has been named interim section chief of Child Safety, Advocacy, and Healing, effective July 1, 2026. She is an associate professor of pediatrics and is board-certified in pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics.
Safety, Advocacy, and Healing
The Yale Department of Pediatrics Safety, Advocacy, and Healing Section was established in 2025 and anchored within the Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health. The program was originally led by Dr. John Leventhal (1982–2019). Care is delivered through the DART service, Yale Child Abuse Clinic, and the nationally accredited South Central Connecticut Child Advocacy Center.
Our Mission is to empower child abuse victims to heal through care, compassion, and coordinated services.

DART
DART (Detection, Assessment, Reporting, and Treatment) is a 24 x 7 specialized treatment plan activated whenever an injury raises concern for possible abuse.
