Biography

Dr. Pellegrini is a Neonatologist with nearly 30 years of experience in level 2 and level 3 newborn intensive care. He was educated as a fellow at the Harvard Program for Neonatology which included the following hospitals: the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital and the Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Pellegrini is interested in the medical fields of newborn hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, neonatal intensive care leadership and medical legal interactions.

James Pellegrini, M.D., is an associate professor of pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, with a specialty in neonatal-perinatal medicine. As the director of neonatology at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital within the Pediatrics department, he is board certified in neonatal medicine.

Dr. Pellegrini provides critical care services for newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.

As a director of neonatology, he leads a staff of neonatology faculty who are experts in molecular genetics, infant nutrition and body composition, lactation science, gastrointestinal development, immunobiology, family-focused infant outcomes, education research, quality improvement research, and bioethics, among others.
