YCC Membership

Yale Cancer Center (YCC) is one of only 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country and was among the first to earn this prestigious designation more than 50 years ago. As a leading institution in cancer research, YCC unites faculty from various disciplines to advance the science of cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care, while actively engaging in community outreach and education. Leveraging the strengths of the Yale School of Medicine and Smilow Cancer Hospital, YCC continues to lead in understanding cancer biology and developing innovative therapies.

Membership in YCC is open to Yale faculty who meet specific eligibility criteria and demonstrate a strong focus on cancer research or clinical care. Applicants are asked to select one of YCC’s six interdisciplinary Research Programs based on their expertise and interests. Each program fosters collaboration, innovation, and mentorship across scientific and clinical disciplines.

YCC offers three types of membership: Full, Clinical, and Research. Applications are reviewed by research program leadership and the Chair of the YCC Membership Committee.

All members are reviewed annually to ensure continued alignment with membership criteria and meaningful contributions to the Center’s mission: "To reduce the burden of cancer in Connecticut and beyond through transformative science and community partnership, ensuring exceptional care and access for all”.
