Biography

Dr. Sun received her medical degree from Peking University Health Science center and her Ph.D. in molecular oncology from Peking Union Medical College.  She joined in Gelb Genitourinary translation research center as a research fellow in Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School, where she was later promoted as a research scientist and mainly focused on genetic markers and post-translational regulation mechanism involved in castration resist prostate cancer. She completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at University of Massachusetts Medical School and a Cytopathology Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She joined Yale Pathology Staff in 2020. Dr. Sun loves all aspects of general surgical pathology and cytopathology, but has research interests particularly in translational and molecular studies involving gynecological and gentiourinary pathology. She earned Warren R. Lang, MD Resident Physician Award and Journal of American Society of Cytopathology Physician-in-training Award for investigating utility of next-generation sequencing in urine cytology specimens. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed publications including 5 book chapters and reviews. She serves as a reviewer for 25 scientific journals.
