Biography

Delfina graduated with a BA in Biology from Pomona College in 2017 after completing thesis research in C. elegans eggshell formation. She did summer undergraduate research on C. elegans centrosome formation in Karen Oegema's lab at UCSD and drosophila CRISPRa technology in Norbert Perrimon's lab at Harvard. While at Yale, she rotated with Jean-Ju Chung and Patrick Lusk before joining Mustafa Khokha's lab where she is studying the role of Auxilin, a clathrin uncoating protein, in left-right patterning and early development and is collaborating with the Lusk Lab to investigate the nuclear transport of developmental signaling effectors.

Delfina is also a long-standing member of the Yale SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) chapter and a McDougal Teaching Fellow at the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning.
