Daniel Hicks, MD, has been named an Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology and cares for patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Guilford and Trumbull. Dr. Hicks specializes in the treatment of genitourinary, thoracic, head and neck, and gastrointestinal malignancies. He received his medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he graduated with distinction in research. He completed his residency at Yale School of Medicine where he served as the Education Chief Resident and Breast and CNS Cancer Resident Curriculum Leader.
Dr. Hicks’ academic interests include the intersection of cancer care and viral illness, and he was involved in treating the first patients at Yale with PET based biology-guided radiotherapy. His research is currently focused on treatment-related immune effects, cancer treatment in people living with HIV, radiotherapy and COVID-19 related mortality, and radiomics in head and neck cancer.
