On February 19th the results of a national Match were announced for psychology internships. Through this process the Department’s Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology selected its incoming class of 17 Fellows who will spend a year training at Yale from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
"We had a phenomenal pool of highly qualified applicants" said Dr. Michael Hoge, the Department’s Director of Clinical Training in Psychology. "Our program has become among the most competitive nationally as demonstrated by the match results."
Dr. Rajita Sinha, Chief of Psychology for the Department, commented that, "There are over 80 psychologists involved in this training program and their efforts have yielded an exceptional internship that draws many of the best graduate students from across the country.”
Psychology Fellows apply to one of eleven training rotations based at the Connecticut Mental Health Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital. Students typically complete this clinical and research oriented internship as the final year of a five-year program of graduate study, which leads to a Ph.D. or Psy.D.
