West Haven Mental Health Clinic

The West Haven Mental Health Clinic is a satellite clinic of the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC) that provides community-based psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and young adults who live in the greater New Haven area. The Child and Adolescent Service admits clients 3 to 17 years of age; the Young Adult Service admits clients 18 to 24 years of age. Priority access is granted to (a) children and adolescents who live in the City of West Haven, (b) children, adolescents, and young adults involved with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, and (c) children, adolescents, and young adults with no health insurance.

The West Haven Mental Health Clinic offers a full complement of outpatient services to younger clients experiencing acute and chronic psychiatric difficulty. Services available include intake-triage, crisis intervention, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, parent intervention, case management, psychological assessment, and medication management. The clinic also provides other developmentally oriented services designed to meet the special needs of young adults making a transition from child to adult systems of care.
