At the Yale Stress Center, we develop, test and validate both behavioral and pharmacological interventions strategies to reduce the toxic effects of trauma and stress and help promote resilience. These include mindfulness, stress reduction, nutrition, and physical activity counseling to enhance your health and the health of your family.

Substance Use

Do you smoke marijuana? Do you feel stressed?

The Yale Stress Center is looking for individuals who are at least 18 years old and smoke marijuana at least once per week to participate in a research study. Participants will receive compensation up to $495.

Weight Loss

Do you struggle with Weight?

The SEMA Trial

If you are between age 18-55 years and are overweight or have obesity, you may qualify for a clinical trial evaluating a once weekly medication which may help with weight loss. The SEMA trial is confidential, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the study drug ( semaglutide vs. placebo) is provided at no cost to qualifying participants. (Individuals with diabetes are not included in this trial). Compensation is up to $1105.

Non-Treatment Studies

A second goal of the Stress Research Clinic is to investigate cognitive, neural, and biological factors associated with everyday stress and stress-related chronic diseases. We seek to discover biomarkers that could help identify risk for and promote successful treatment of mental and physical health disorders associated with stress.
