Faculty in the Yale Program in Addiction Medicine conduct federally funded research including observational studies, randomized controlled trials, implementation science, policy and ethnographic research designed to facilitate the dissemination of effective strategies for addiction treatment, prevention, and harm reduction, as well as integration of these strategies into specialty, primary care, and general medical settings. Our Program’s robust portfolio of scholarship is methodologically rigorous and diverse, with projects addressing opioids, alcohol, tobacco, stimulants, and benzodiazepine use, as well as co-occurring conditions including but not limited to infection, pain, and psychiatric illness.
