    Biography

    Joshua Reed Bia, MD has always called New Haven and its surrounding communities home. He is grateful to work in Yale New Haven Hospital's emergency departments as well as on the addiction medicine consult service. His passions include reducing stigma and increasing access to care for patients with substance use disorders, embracing multidisciplinary teamwork, medical education and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

    Overview

    Joshua Reed Bia, MD, has always called New Haven and its surrounding communities home. He is grateful to serve his patients as a physician certified in both emergency and addiction medicine.

    Dr. Bia currently works clinically in Yale New Haven Hospital’s emergency departments, as well as on the addiction medicine consult service. His passions include reducing stigma and increasing access to care for patients with substance use disorders in Connecticut, embracing multidisciplinary teamwork, medical education, and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

    He received his medical degree from the Frank H. Netter, MD, School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and subsequently completed a residency in emergency medicine and fellowship in addiction medicine, both at Yale.
