    Overview

    James S. Farrelly, MD specializes in general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. He performs a variety of surgical procedures ranging from minor skin procedures to complex abdominal surgeries. Dr. Farrelly is particularly skilled in using the DaVinci robotic system for hernia surgeries.

    Dr. Farrelly is not only a surgeon but also an educator and researcher at Yale School of Medicine, where he's making strides in surgical innovation and knowledge sharing. His research interests include a wide range of topics from prostate cancer therapies and bioengineered intrauterine fetal gene therapy to cost-containment of peri-operative surgical materials and process management. He has contributed to numerous publications and presented at multiple national and international academic conferences, sharing his insights and expertise with colleagues and aspiring medical professionals across the globe.

    Dr. Farrelly completed his medical education at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by residency at Yale School of Medicine and a fellowship in surgical critical care at Yale New Haven Hospital. He also holds a master’s degree of Health Sciences from Yale University.
