    Overview

Gabriela Spilberg, MD, specializes in nuclear medicine and radiology, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, with a particular emphasis on neuroendocrine tumors.

Dr. Spilberg employs advanced imaging techniques, such as molecular imaging, to detect and manage these conditions by using small amounts of radioactive substances to create detailed pictures of the body's cellular activity. This approach allows for the development of precise, targeted treatments for cancer patients.

Dr. Spilberg serves as an assistant professor of radiology and biomedical imaging at Yale School of Medicine. Her research is centered on the use of molecular imaging to improve cancer care by tailoring treatments based on specific cellular and molecular information.

She received her medical degree from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. She then completed a research fellowship at the University of Massachusetts, as well as fellowships in neuroradiology, interventional radiology, emergency radiology, cardiovascular imaging, and PET/CT cancer imaging. She completed her residency in the Harvard Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
