    Biography

Christopher Morrison is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, and Scientific Director for Firearm Injury Prevention. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and uses spatial epidemiologic methods to understand how social and physical environmental conditions affect population health, particularly injuries, alcohol use, and alcohol-related harms. His ongoing work examines the impacts of built environments on firearm violence, road safety interventions on crashes for vulnerable road users, and retail alcohol availability on alcohol-involved injuries. Dr. Morrison completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Penn Injury Science Center at the University of Pennsylvania, and was a doctoral visiting scholar at the Prevention Research Center of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Berkeley, California. He holds a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Monash University, Australia.
