    Biography

    Originally from Egypt, Abdelrahman earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University (Summa Cum Laude with Honors). During his undergraduate years, he developed a strong interest in academic medicine and evidence-based practice. After graduation, he pursued research training with the PERFUSE study group at Harvard Medical School/BIDMC. He later joined the Structural Heart Disease research team at the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked on assessing the outcomes of novel structural interventions, such as transcatheter aortic and tricuspid repair and replacement procedures. His research has received multiple awards, been cited in national and international guidelines, and featured in major news outlets, such as Reuters Health, Scientific American, and Health Policy Watch. He is also a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (Scientific Excellence Track) and a collegiate of the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society. Now, Abdelrahman is an Internal Medicine Resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital and is enrolled in the Clinical Investigation Distinction. He is starting his clinical cardiology fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in July 2026. He is a member of the Senate/Executive council and leads the IMG committee. He is pursuing a career as a physician-scientist in Cardiovascular Medicine.
