    Biography

    Originally from Egypt, Abdelrahman earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University (Summa Cum Laude with Honors). During his undergraduate years, he developed a strong interest in academic medicine and evidence-based practice. After graduation, he pursued research training with the PERFUSE study group at Harvard Medical School/BIDMC. He later joined the Structural Heart Disease research team at the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked on assessing the outcomes of novel structural interventions, such as transcatheter aortic and tricuspid procedures. He received multiple clinical and research awards, including the Stephen R. Shell Memorial award for outstanding medical educators (from Yale) and the Joseph Cash Memorial award for excellence in health outcomes research (from the Cleveland Clinic). His scholarly work was cited in >30 international guidelines and policy statements. He is also a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (Scientific Excellence Track) and a collegiate of the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society. Now, Abdelrahman is finishing his Internal Medicine Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital (Clinical Investigation Distinction) and he will be starting his clinical cardiology fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in July 2026. He is a member of the Senate/Executive council and leads the IMG committee. He is pursuing a career as a physician-scientist in Cardiovascular Medicine.
